Cold Plunge Therapy in Milford, PA: Your Questions Answered

Cold plunging has become one of the most talked-about recovery tools in wellness, and Milford Health House added an Odin Cold Plunge XL to our lineup for exactly that reason. Here are the questions we hear most from people trying it for the first time.

What is the Odin Cold Plunge XL?

It's a chilled, filtered water tub designed for full-body cold immersion, kept at a consistently cold temperature rather than relying on bags of ice. It's one of several recovery tools available at Health House, alongside our infrared sauna, red light therapy, and PEMF.

How cold is the water, and how long do people stay in?

Most cold plunge protocols use water in the 50-59°F range, and sessions are typically short — often just two to five minutes. Our staff can walk you through a comfortable starting point on your first visit; there's no need to push straight to the coldest, longest version.

What do people use cold plunging for?

The most common reasons people give us are post-workout recovery, reducing next-day soreness, and a genuine energy boost — plenty of people say it wakes them up better than coffee. Cold water immersion is a popular and growing area of wellness research, but it's still an evolving field, so we describe it as a recovery and invigoration practice rather than a medical treatment.

Is cold plunging safe for everyone?

Not for everyone, no. Cold immersion isn't recommended if you have a heart condition, uncontrolled high blood pressure, are pregnant, or have certain circulatory conditions — check with your doctor first if any of that applies to you. Our staff will always ask about contraindications before your first plunge.

Can I combine cold plunge with the sauna or red light therapy?

Yes — alternating hot and cold, often called contrast therapy, is one of the more popular ways people use the cold plunge here, moving between the infrared sauna and the cold plunge in the same visit.

How do I book a cold plunge session?

You can book directly through our online scheduler or call us at 570-832-0003. Cold plunge sessions are also available as part of our membership packages — ask our team which option makes sense for how often you plan to come in.

Where is Milford Health House located, and what are your hours?

We're at 110 E Catharine St, Milford, PA 18337. We're open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
